BELLEVUE, WASHINGTON (PRWEB) JULY 12, 2016 - Each year, National Underwriter Life & Health salutes the best of the best in the life and health insurance industry, celebrating those who represent game-changing levels of market innovation, regulatory advocacy, industry reputation, community work, and emerging talent. Although the crop of nominees proved exceptionally strong this year, four individuals met National Underwriter's standards. Long Term Care Associates, Inc. (LTCA) is proud of its senior vice president, Stephen D. Forman, for his selection as 2016 Industry Elite winner in the category of Industry Awareness.

In making their selection, National Underwriter hailed Forman as a "transparent advocate in the face of public scrutiny," well-known not just within long-term care circles but the larger insurance world as a whole. Forman also won over the judges with his ability to cooperate, communicate and educate a variety of stakeholders, from government to journalists to financial planners to consumers. Forman has used his role as "the voice of long-term care" to push for industry reforms, including a focus on claims handling and the policing of rogue websites targeting the elderly.

When notified of the award, Forman replied, "This honor serves as a humbling validation of our work turning the tide. Every day, more and more families and financial planners have come to accept the role that long-term care insurance can play in securing our retirements. But as long as skeptics continue to perpetuate denial and misinformation, our work is not done."

It has been said there may be "no larger advocate... and no one more respected" in the field of long-term care insurance than Mr. Forman, a frequent media guest and speaker. As the author of more than fifty articles on the subject, his most well-received works include "The Advisor's Guide to Long-Term Care" (2nd Ed.) and the landmark report, "Spring Comes to LTC Insurance: The Blooming of a Soft Market."
