Seattle, WA - March 1, 2013 – For the 2nd year in a row Seattle-based firm Long Term Care Associates, Inc. (LTCA) is proud to be named a Finalist in the Best Senior Living Awards. LTCA competed in one of the most crowded fields—"Social Media Rockstar—Organizations", and received one of the highest Judges Scores awarded in its category.

The third-annual Best Senior Living Awards (formerly SeniorHomes.com Best of the Web) is a program designed to identify the top resources, people, providers and organizations in a variety of senior living categories. Last year's awards resulted in more than 450 nominations and more than 6,500 votes overall.

"I suspect the reason LTCA scored highly," said Stephen D. Forman, senior vice president, "has been our commitment to delivering quality information and resources to seniors, caregivers and the senior living industry through social media. We've tried to set an example for our peers in the insurance industry through our ongoing 'Education through Social Media' campaign."

Forman cited a widely-viewed YouTube channel, a Twitter account named one of the industry's Top 10 most influential, and a unique LTC Quiz on the company's Facebook page which has been particularly well-received.

During the finals of the Best Senior Living Awards, 18 judges hailing from all corners of the industry evaluated nominees using a set of standardized rating criteria. Although varying by category, research was conducted to determine features of most value to the consumer or audience, including:

• Quality of content
• Credibility and accuracy
• Navigation and design
• Usability, and
• Frequency of posts
