Long Term Care Insurance Working Group Attended by Seattle Professional
Seattle, February 26th, 2013 - Twenty of the nation's leading long term care insurance and retirement product distributors met February 19-22 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, CA.
Seattle businessowner and resident Stephen Forman attended. Stephen Forman is senior vice-president of LTCA, which is a member firm of the National LTC Network, the meeting's sponsor.
On the agenda were presentations by representatives of Genworth Financial, MedAmerica, Mutual of Omaha and Transamerica's long term care operations, as well as reverse mortgage specialist Mike Banner, EOS business consultant Sean O'Driscoll, marketing consultant Marilee Driscoll, and 3in4 Need More founder Jonas Roeser.
"It's not often enough this much intellectual firepower and collective experience is assembled in one room," said Stephen Forman of LTCA. "These working groups provide a vital backdrop against which the nation's thought leaders exchange ideas."
Among the many important industry trends discussed by the group were:
- gender-specific pricing;
- changing underwriting guidelines;
- the simplification of the long term care insurance application process;
- the repeal of CLASS (a government-run program that would provide cash benefits for long term care);
- the establishment of a national Commission on Long-Term Care.
Several of these items are of particular importance to employers, taxpayers, and Americans who are planning for their financial security in retirement.
The rise of attractive alternate solutions to traditional long term care insurance was heralded by the group, as a suite of different solutions allow more Americans to choose a plan that fits within their personal budget and philosophy.
